It may not always be about external pressures. While busy schedules, deadlines, and responsibilities can certainly contribute, stress can also arise from internal expectations, the constant drive to meet demands, or the fear of falling short. Over time, this can lead to burnout — a feeling of exhaustion that goes beyond physical tiredness, seeping into emotional and mental spaces as well.
Burnout doesn’t always announce itself in dramatic ways. It can manifest as a sense of disengagement, a loss of meaning, or a difficulty in connecting with work or personal life. What once felt fulfilling may begin to feel draining, and the pursuit of achievement may no longer seem to offer satisfaction.
In therapy, there is room to explore what underpins this stress — to trace the patterns that have developed and explore the deeper forces at play. The process is not about finding immediate fixes but understanding the structures that have shaped the experience of stress, and how they may be reimagined over time.
